Here Helen visited a woman called Polydamna, who sold drugs. Some years later Helen organized a huge party in her palace in Sparta. When some of the guests brought up Odysseus' disappearance, Helen felt bad. Not so much due to the unknown whereabouts of Odysseus, but because it seemed her party was becoming a rather sad affair. Suddenly Helen remembered the drug she had bought from Polydamna. Whosoever drank of this mixture would be incapable of sadness. As soon as Helen had mixed this potion into everyone's drinks, spirits were raised and everybody relaxed.
